Reviews about Viper Customs
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆January 25, 2019, by Kylene RaperThere is a lot to say about a name and VIPER could not be more appropriate for this business! Jim Jackson is nothing more than a sly snake! Dropped our boat off to be reupholstered on Feb. 10th and was given a MAX turn around of 3 weeks, well 3 weeks turned into 7 weeks and after every Friday emailing to check in, it was finally ready on March 31. HOWEVER, when I arrived to pick it up it was STILL NOT FINISHED! The sundeck pad was still being sewn, remember I had an original turn around of 3 weeks. I live an hour away from this business so I had to spend all day burning up time in Knoxville waiting to pick it up and finally just gave up on getting a call and drove back to this business and sat and waited! Once home after the frustration wore off, I really started to look at the boat, the fabric on my seats is NOT the same material as what was used on the bench that is between them, NOT even the SAME texture, then my passenger seat has a tear in the green fabric, the sunpad middle seam does not even line up with the center of the boat, and the bench that was made looks like a child shaped the foam for it AT BEST! BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE!!! BOTH of my batteries were dead! Brand NEW batteries! The Master switch was on, bilge pump switch was on, the blower switch was on, then I decided to look at the engine and check the oil dipstick and and that's when the major issue was brought to light. There was condensation on the dipstick, I pumped 3 gallons of water out of the crank case, and before you question if all the water was drained from the engine prior to it being dropped off, IT WAS! Also JIM JACKSON was informed that all the water was drained out of the engine but that I had not put any antifreeze in the engine. His exact words were and I quote " I don't have anywhere to keep it in the shop until its ready to be worked on but don't worry there isn't any bad weather in the forecast for the next couple of weeks" NOW go back to when I was given a 3 week turn around that did not happen and was not kept abreast of the situation about my boat so it leads one to only accurately believe that my boat sat out in the weather for 7 weeks and was worked MAYBE a few days before my pick up on the 31st considering it was still being pieced together that day! And here is another kicker after talking to several other boaters and seeing their faces at the mention of Jim Jackson's name I ultimately knew I had been royally screwed on this business deal! I tried to call him and express my concern and see if something could be done, bc it seems like the water was intentionally poured into my engine, and I requested surveillance video but its been over a week now and I haven't heard anything at all. I have filed a police report and now I am trying to see what my insurance will do. By the way all you readers be warned because I have also been told that in the warm summer months he frequently enjoys taking boats that he is working on out on Tellico lake. He particularly likes Mastercrafts, So watch out, mine was a Tahoe so I guess it wasn't his taste. I have photographic proof and video of the water being pumped from my engine. He is located on Topside Road now in Louisville.
